Our lives,
so seemingly small, ripple out to the whole universe as tiny whispers like the sounds of butterfly wings, and the clear voice of the living truth. -J.L.D. |
Our friend, Eliza, from the Agricultural Resource Center on the island popped by today bearing an enormous amount of freshly picked strawberries. What a gift—real, organic, sweet, gorgeous strawberries, not pumped up on chemicals, or laden with pesticides! These berries have made up for being strawberry deprived!
We were thinking of recipes to make with them and an intuitive flash brought an image of a bowl of strawberry pudding. I made some and it worked—boy, did it ever! Just as soon as we'd taken the photograph, we got to eat the pudding, and this is a pretty fair account of our experience: There's just strawberries in this? Uh huh. Slurp slurp, Oh my, that is tooooo good. Wow. Slurp slurp, I don't believe this!!! Mmmm-yum! Then we licked the bowl clean with the essence of strawberries filling us. Ingredients and Directions for Pudding:
This is the fastest and easiest recipe to make!
3/4 to 1 cup strawberries per person. Wash berries and remove any green stems and leaves. Put berries into blender with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, and a little agave nectar. Blend until creamy. Pour into a bowl and slice a few strawberries on top. If you have a sweet tooth, drizzle a little extra agave nectar on top. Enjoy the berries—they taste like perfume! Little Story: What the strawberries told us... Who can explain the essence of a fruit? It is a gift of God, thriving in the sun and earth. It is the transfer of energy, carrying the promise of new life from the profusion of the fruit's flesh, its mystery, and the seeds. Taking all this into the body is an act of sacred transmutation, transformation, of giving and receiving—as one form merges and unites with another. Living from our being, closest to the Source that created us, we can place and plant seeds everywhere we go—choosing seeds of the heart, of truth and compassion—and become a grower, bearer, and giver of seeds! |
